Decisions: Why going for a single colour if I can have the whole rainbow? |
Candy From Head To Toe: A look with feathers and tassels. |
Mexican Embroidery In Perspex: Detailed Statement Necklace from Tatty Devine. |
Tender Feathers: A fascinator from Jazzafine especially made to match this look. |
I Love My Shoes: Recently I can’t get enough of those chunky sandals. |
Feeling Wonderful: Putting on a kimono instantly adds some drama to a look. I like. |
The Angel Lies In the Detail: Perfect combination of feathers, netting and flowers. |
Dreamy Mood: Pastels are definitely good for my mood. |
Probably the only moment in life when everything is blank is the second after birth. In this single instant, everything is open and possible. Later on, you start realizing that you have to make millions of decisions, every minute, every second. A lot of them are very simple ones – like where do you want to have lunch or if you prefer the cinema or the art museum.
Sometimes even those decisions have unexpected side effects: Taking the tube instead of the bus could lead into meeting an amazing person that will change your life. Who are you, who am I, but a mishmash of millions of decisions? Thinking about all this data you have to deal with, the human brain appears as a super computer, doesn’t it?
People are born into a specific culture and with their very own unique skills. Knowing what we can’t and can sometimes provide the feeling of just following the path of what was given to us. I say this is just one page of the story. You are your very own artist, constantly choosing colours and painting your life story.
Decisions close doors and open new ones. Don’t underestimate them, not even the apparently simple ones. I choose to wear my pastel kimono today; this might change your opinion about me. Maybe you are here for the very first time, and your impression about me has been made according to this look. I believe that my day could have turned out differently with another outfit. Maybe not significant, but just a little.
I wonder what adventures the kimono will bring me today.
My decision of the day: I don’t say no to any colour, but just wear them all.

Thanks to Jazzafine for the fascinator.
Let’s gaze into the future! It’s full of amazement, be assured. |
We shall enter a world of smoke and mystery together. |
No gypsy, but a modern mystical look. |
Today’s fortune tellers wear their glass sphere on their feet, didn’t you know? |
What does a fortune teller do with a fluffy bag you might wonder? Well, this is a secret, never to be revealed. |
I’m going to open the satin curtains. |
Not without fulfilling a prejudice: Wearing moon earrings is a must. |
You will see my prophecy will come true! |
Let’s do something completely different! Why not try to create a modern ethnic look? I was never particularly interested in this kind of look, but a visit to the Gaultier exhibition changed my mind. No, I don’t restyle something I’ve seen there, but the global ethnic motifs of this ingenious designer left their traces. As well this look is a tribute to the Tatty Devine AW2014 collection, dedicated to the mystics of fortune telling and divination. I don’t own one of the pieces yet, but I thought it were fun to style an inspired look with something from a past collection of theirs.
I get excited when I find something all new to try out, I just love to transform. Very often I have the impression that a lot of girls just want to be pretty and dresses after this maxim. How boring I say! There is nothing wrong about looking beautiful I agree, but that’s really not what fashion is about. Fashion is a game: You can be whatever you want to be. Just dress and play!
Don’t fall into the trap of following habits, banish your favourite colour for a day and leave your comfort zone. If you show the world something except your best side, you may discover you have some good sides you didn’t see before.
How do you like my fortune teller look lovelies?

Just when we started to wonder if there wouldn’t be a new Dazzle & Jolt collection, they come back not just with a bang, but the greatest show on earth. The circus is in town and what a great one it is: Banging colours, roaring lions and all the popcorn you can imagine in your wildest dreams.
While they started with designing t-shirts, there is an exciting premiere happening: Now you can wear Dazzle & Jolt all over prints from head to toe. Their new mini skirt and leggings are just the eye-popping things missing in our lives!
Come on, clear the ring, don’t buy mainstream, Dazzle & Jolt is far, far cooler!
Easy & Comfy: A real I don’t care look. |
Pardon Me: What do you say? I think I can’t hear you… |
Ghost Dreams: This little cutie isn’t paying attention, but dreaming of cloud castles. |
Moo Moo Girl: Free to breath, free to be whatever pops into her mind, free to eat chocolate. |
Flamingo Crush: I don’t need to tell you… |
No Need To Read Comic Books: Just live them! |
Pink Lucky Charms: You can never have too many for sure. |
From Front to Back: You can turn it like you want, this girl is relaxed about her look. |
Pompoms Forever: Even better if they are baby pink and worn with towering platforms. |
I don’t care if anybody thinks I’m wearing my pyjama out today. My blogger friend Jessica-Chelsey recently posted a shirt dress look too and said that she feels like Homer Simpson in his moo moo. I constantly think about this while wearing this look, laughing inside.
It’s a relief to wear something with no need to suck in one’s stomach. No reason to worry about the big piece of chocolate pie who is suddenly no longer on the plate but in your stomach (Argh: I am the big destroyer of chocolate, no matter if mousse, or bar, nothing is safe from me). Today’s look screams out loud: I feel good, I’m comfy and I just don’t care about whatever bad you might say about me.
I grew up in a very little village with more cows than residents and back at school there were nasty boys, shouting after me how ugly I am. There was a time when I listened to them and escaped to a world of fantasy books. I spent days dreaming of being a fair storybook princess, wondering why this wasn’t me. For a while I was so embarrassed about myself, I dressed as to make myself as invisible as possible.
I am not born a pretty supermodel, and I can never turn into one like millions of other women. But it’s ok, because this can’t stop a girl with attitude: This is your armor, wear it proud and let it shine in the light like an impenetrable shield. The most beautiful woman is not essentially the most stylish woman and certainly not the most lovely one. Be whatever you are, just be the best one you can be!
Life is just too short to hide, so no invisible looks ever again.

Shoes: River Island, Socks: Topshop

I love Friday Favourites posts on other blogs and always wanted to do something like this for you as well. What kept me back was the fear that I could not manage to publish a post like this on a regular basis every Friday. But today I’m finally brave enough to try. I can’t promise a post like this once a week, but maybe every second or third Friday if you like it.
Today I show you what I discovered while browsing the shops, in the future I might include pictures from blogs I love. I am still so lost in a sea of pink and cuteness. I can’t imagine arising and leaving candy floss land. There is just no end to desiring more bows, more tassels and more hearts in my flamingo crazy heart. I just wish I could turn the sky pink for a day.
I hope your Friday is lovely, I’m enjoying a happy bank holiday, yay! 😀
Sending you lots of love.
