Who is the cutest cartoon character in the universe? Hello Kitty, of course, cause her cute face is everywhere! Did you ever realize that your favourite cat doesn’t have a mouth? Since somebody told me I can’t forget about this.

But maybe Kitty doesn’t need a mouth: She can play the piano, she can be everything she wants to be, and she has her own theme park, train and even travelled to space on her own little satellite. There is nothing Kitty can’t achieve, she doesn’t need to talk but just to follow her heart! Maybe her makers wanted to tell us that it’s what we do and what we feel that matters, not what we say.

As a kid, I didn’t have any Hello Kitty stuff, despite Kitty being around since 1974. Maybe that is why I need to catch up now and surround myself with a big flock of cute white Kittys. Everything from pencil cases to rulers and bowls is just more fun with Kitty’s face on it! Thanks to Blippo I don’t have to go to Japan to fetch my cuties, but they come all to my doorstep.

So darlings, from now on I stay home on my days off, wearing my loungewear while I cuddle with Hello Kitty.

A few days ago, Jeremy Scott presented the Resort 2019 collection of Moschino in Los Angeles and it was a brilliant, all circus-themed fun show. The runway – of course a big tent – featured everything people anticipate to see in a circus: Balloon artists mingled with juggling stilt-walkers next to caged (plush) tigers, there was a Ferris wheel and of course cotton candy.

But the highlight was, of course, the fashion. While everybody was saying for years that fashion is a circus, Jeremy took this literally and turned it into a fabulous freak show.

My latest look doesn’t include any Moschino, but I think I could have smuggled in my primary-coloured rainbow style without any problems. Yes, I am in the circus already, cause what could be more fun than being where the breathtaking stunts, the incredible magic, and amazing wonders happen? For me, circus means the opposite of grey and boring, a world where people can stop worrying and being serious all the time. It’s a whimsical world full of colours, joyfulness, and happiness.

Call me a fashion clown if you like. I don’t care but show you my red-lipped smile and continue having fun. I am sure my favourite fashion showman Jeremy would approve this attitude!

SodaStream blogger review water no plastic
SodaStream blogger review water no plastic

A few weeks ago, while I was in London, I met Vivienne Westwood at my favourite Indian restaurant. We had an inspiring chat about politics and sustainability. What I read about her before has proven itself true: Vivienne’s priority is not fashion design anymore, but ecology, climate change, and sustainability.

And the queen of punk is right: What could be more important than carrying about keeping our planet healthy and clean? Right: Nothing! Therefore we should all try to set a good example to inspire others to live a responsible life. I believe change can start with little things, like not using straws, buying unwrapped vegetables and using public transport instead of owning a car. Decreasing the number of plastic bottles in our everyday life is on the list too and reduces our carbon and plastic footprint.

Therefore my new flatmate is a SodaStream that frees me (or my boyfriend to be honest) from carrying home numerous plastic bottles. From now on, I just make my own fresh sparkling water with tap water! Magic, yes? Since I could never convince myself to drink pure tap water, even if we have a good water quality in Switzerland, this is finally a solution where I don’t have to me miss my beloved bubbles. Now I can add even as many as I like.

But let’s be honest: I wouldn’t be Sara if I would do something just for practical reasons. There is no way an ugly machine would ever find it’s way into my kitchen no matter how good it is. The old design of SodaStream was such an example and I guess many of you who grew up in the 80s just like I remember that horrible machine from their childhood. But hey: SodaStream didn’t sleep since then and the new SodaStream Crystal with its elegant glass bottles and the shiny cylinder is a completely different league, ready to occupy a place in even a very stylish kitchen.

While back then my parents had a SodaStream to save money, my primary reason is to save resources and this makes this machine a gadget at the pulse of the time and just another step towards a more sustainable life without sacrifices. The only bad news: My boyfriend might have to go to the gym more often since he can’t exercise carrying bottles anymore.
