While most bloggers are taking pictures in front of elegant cafes and in beautiful gardens, I am more attracted by the shaby corners of Zurich as a scenery for my pictures. Rundown buildings scrawly graffiti and dusty corners raise my curiosity to wonder about the stories happening before the beauty faded.

It’s in the dust and junk, where real-life happened and the melancholy of glorious times still lingers, far from stages and affected behaviour. No Parisian chic to be found in the dark but edginess and a past that left its marks like faded scars. If you are not open for this beauty, you might shrug it off as ugly, dirty and dangerous and oversee the hidden. Have a second glance and you might discover the unexpected.

I think shabby corners and cute outfits are a good match with their dichotomy. It’s like the fact that there is no Beauty without the Beast or no Sale without Full Prices. Pastel pink iridescent rainbow shades found their counterpart.

Only after styling this look it occurred to me that it could be a reference to Britney’s Oops! I did it again video from the 90’s with the schoolgirl skirt, the college jacket and the knotted top. I wouldn’t be me if it wouldn’t be more colourful than her version. And I bet good school girls like young Britney didn’t hang around my rough corners 😉

Sara is in Love with… perfume fragrance review Gaultier Scandal A Paris beauty luxury brand

It’s not just a rumour: Scandal A Paris is the newest fragrance for her by Jean Paul Gaultier. Model Irina Shayk is the face of the fragrance that is just like Paris: Seductive, powdery, chic, intoxicating and captivating. Oh la la!

The first Scandal launched in 2017, followed by Scandal by Night in 2018. This makes Scandal A Paris the third member of the family. What they all have in common is the sweetness of honey as an important keynote.

The ultra feminie fragrance is sweet and fruity, but still airy. The gorgeous opening is a strong blast of honey, followed by the juicy freshness of pear based on a soft bed of jasmine. It’s a Scandal, but less decadent and strong than the classic fragrance

The Notes
Top: Honey – Heart: Pear – Base: Jasmine

I think it’s a gorgeous and sensual fragrance to wear for going out in the evening. Scandal A Paris lasts very long on the skin which is another plus for long romantic nights out dreaming of Montmartre…It might be too heavy and sweet for the office unless you attempt to cause some rumours…

I would have bought the fragrance just because of the bottle since this one is really a hit with the cheeky silver legs on top of it. An absolute need for your shelf and very Gaultier!

I’ve always had this thing with neon. Like a moth attracted by the light, I am drawn to bright, fluorescent colours and neon signs. It’s either because I am an eighties child or that it runs in my veins.

When my grandfather was a young man, he went to Italy on holiday and saw “glowing advertisings” for the first time. He was so captured by this that when he went home to his tiny village, he decided to start a neon sign company. Probably the first one in the country. My grandma told me that people called him mad, but he believed in it, and the company still exists. If I still had some of the signs they produced, I’d love to mix them with the tropical neon collection in my living room and have a Mini-Vegas at home.

Thinking about my grandfather makes me wish I could do something as exciting and new as bringing neon signs to a place where people haven’t seen them before. But it has become tougher to come up with something new in a world where an eight-year-old might tell you that he has seen it all before. The resurrected 80’s trend of wearing hot pink and blinding yellow still catches some stares for sure, but the times when it was genuinely shocking are long gone.

But it didn’t lose its excitement, so let’s follow the neon trail this summer and don’t follow the style guides that tell you to pair your neon pieces with beige please.

Sara is in Love with… rainbow look with accessories

Confession: I have a fashion addiction and it’s all about rainbow accessories. It goes on for a while already and will continue not just until pride month is over. It’s my statement against minimalism and my attempt to bring a little bit of happiness with me wherever I go. The excited inner child inside of me that wants to use all crayons at once is still alive and will never lose the passion for colour.

When I bought my first rainbow jumper I thought I am equipped now, but how little did I know! Soon afterwards, I discovered that my life is not complete without a whole pile of rainbow jumpers and t-shirts, cause rainbows like company. There are as many rainbows as shades of white and therefore the pile grew and grew. When I tidied up my wardrobe and saw all my rainbow tops it was clear: Yes this is not just a little thing, it’s a real thirst for uniting all bright colours on my chest.

The jumper from this post is a lucky second-hand find, so no fast fashion happening in this post. Everything I wear is either handmade by designers from Switzerland and Germany or vintage (besides my Gucci sunglasses). I have to point out my collar made by Swiss designer Waternymph: This eyecatcher uses upcycled Australian fish scales and vintage leather. I never imagined that I’d wear fish around my neck until I saw it. But it is what it is: Everything is just perfect in rainbow, don’t you agree? The absence of fast fashion makes my rainbow even more cheerful and makes me feel alright about giving in to my rainbow thirst. What fashion addiction do you have at the moment?
